Market Context

Volatility is rising sharply.

VIX is trading back above 21 after a strong spike into the end of the week.

SPY lost short-term support after failing near recent highs.

QQQ showed a cleaner downside break, with growth and high-beta names leading the weakness.

Earnings activity is moderate, but several large software names remain on the calendar.

In this environment, I am prioritizing patience, tighter selectivity, and no forced deployment.

What I Am Not Touching

No forced premium sales.

Volatility expanded quickly into the end of the week, but higher premium does not automatically improve assignment quality.

No aggressive sizing in high-beta names.

ONDS, IONQ, and GLXY already provide enough volatility exposure.

No selling puts into broken short-term structure.

Several names lost support late in the week. New entries require stabilization first.

No trades into earnings.

Event risk remains unacceptable when it sits inside the cycle.

No chasing rebound attempts.

After a sharp market pullback, failed bounces can reset quickly.

No front-running support.

Levels must hold first.

Process Note

Two positions were assigned this week.

That is part of the Wheel.

The goal is not avoiding assignment.

The goal is accepting assignment only at prices that were already acceptable before entry.

Market conditions deteriorated into the end of the week.

That does not change the process.

It increases selectivity.

Current focus remains:

  • assignment management,
  • covered call placement,
  • support confirmation,
  • and controlled exposure.

Premium is available.

That does not mean it is usable.

No prediction.

Just process.
